What season is lacrosse played?
Lacrosse is a spring sport.


How much does the program cost? 
$130 per player with a $30 discount for additional players in the same family.
After March 1 there is an additional $35 late fee, so register early!


How does our family register?
The easiest way to register is through our online system.

Alternately, you can also go to the Park and Recreation office at Bethel Municipal Center for paper copy registration forms.


What is the deadline for registration?
Boys cutoff is April 1.

Girls accept new players any time.



How are the teams divided?
Boys have four age groups:
U9 Bantams     =   Under age 9 on 12/31/09      =  born 2001 or later
U11 Lightning  =   
Under age 11 on 12/31/09   =  born 1999 or 2000
U13 Juniors      =   
Under age 13 on 12/31/09   =  born 1997 or 1998
U15 Seniors      =  
Under age 15 on 12/31/09   =  born 1995 or 1996

Girls have three age groups:
Bantams = Grades 2,3,4
Juniors = Grades 5,6
Seniors = Grades 7,8


Additionally, depending on the number of players in each age group, there may be multiple teams at each level. 


When does the season start ?
Indoor practice begins in March
Outdoor practice begins April 1, weather permitting.
Boys 1st game is TBD
Girls 1st game is TBD

Typically when and where do we practice? 
We use fields at the Bethel Educational Park for practice.
Berry Field, Rockwell Field, Johnson Field, and Lower High Field
Practice schedules are posted online (locate your team from the pull down menu). 
Any changes to the schedule are posted online as well.


What equipment does my child need?

What is the uniform?
BYLA provides jerseys and shorts for boys players, skorts and jerseys for girls players.


Where can I find Lacrosse Equipment?
Most major sporting goods outlets like Sports Authority or Dick's Sporting goods carry lacrosse gear.
Additionally, Play it Again Sports in Brookfield has an excellent selection of new and used lacrosse gear.



What does my registration fee go towards?
We determine the registration fee by adding up all our costs and looking at the number of participants. The fee covers referees and officials, uniforms, personal and team equipment (goalie equipment, goals, nets, cones, balls etc.), medical kits, insurance for all players and coaches, membership to U.S. Lacrosse for all players and coaches, and jamboree and tournament fees.



What is U.S. Lacrosse?
The national governing body of men's and women's lacrosse. All players will become members of U.S. Lacrosse upon registering for the BYLA programs. Their website is http://www.uslacrosse.org.


What are the rules of Boys and Girls lacrosse?
